Day 1 Canberra

With little to no sleep we woke early to have breakfast at 7am (5am WA time). Breakfast of egg and bacon was inhaled by most. It was a quiet affair with a few bleary-eyed adolescents.
With breakfast in our bellies our driver Lyndon, took us to the war memorial where we participated in a Vietnam War interactive workshop. Benn, Mason, Keelie and Zac played roles in the workshop with genders being swapped and relationships being tested. They all did a great job.

We moved through the museum taking in much of the exhibits with students respectfully observing the shrine of remembrance. Many of the students were able to find soldiers they had researched in HASS.

With the museum behind us and the walking tour cancelled we ate lunch at the top of Mount Ainsley it was cold with a lovely view, we had no trouble convincing the kids to get back on the bus.
We moved into town to learn about the planning and construction of Canberra and the ACT.
On the way back to the dorms we made a stop at woollies. Some of the hungry kids needed feeding. Budgets were blown and diets abandoned. Once home, master chefs went into action whipping up meals an hour before dinner time.

We look forward to laser tag tonight.
